The Launching of the m/v "Kapitan Kozhevnikov"

the On June 26, 2009 the launching of the m/v ?Kapitan Kozhevnikov? took place, the ship is the twelfth ship of the ?Karelia? project being built at the Onega Shipbuilding Yard. The ship has been named after an honoured workman of the White Sea-and-Onega Shipping Company Kozhevnikov Sergey Ivanovitch.

The main dimensions of the"Karelia" project ships are as follows deadweight — 5,467 tons, length — 108.3 m, breadth — 16.5 m, depth — 5.5 m, cargo hold capacity — 7,833 m³, main engine power — 2,040 kW. The ships are intended for carrying general, bulk, wood, grain and large-sized cargoes as well as the international standard containers. The ships? designing and the construction is being carried out under the supervision of the Russian Maritime Register of Shipping and meets the Conventions for the Safety of Life at Sea (SOLAS-74), for Prevention of Pollution from Ships (MARPOL).

The construction of the ship, the modern rudder propellers, the bow thruster, the advanced radio-navigation equipment allow to accomplish the carrying of cargoes on the international sea lines with the range of sailing up to 4,000 sea miles with the total stock and to enter the inland waters of Russia and of foreign states for providing the cargo delivery without intermediate unloading.

The eleventh ship «Vladimir Noskov» is having mooring trials and will be handed over to the Customer in July, 2009

Simultaneously with the construction of the river-and-sea going ships of «Karelia» project the yard is building sea-going ships of DCV 33 project.
