The JSC «Onega shipyard» was found in 1944.
It is situated on the beautiful shore of Onego Lake in the capital of Karelia Republic, town of Petrozavodsk.
The shipyard has got the present layout in consequence of modernization and re-quipment of the shipbuilding and ship-repairing facilities of the OJSC «White Sea and Onega shipping company».
In 90-s here was acquired the experience of assembling the vessel?s hulls composed of ready-made parts delivered from Germany and arranging these hulls of equipment. The family of dry cargo vessels of ?river-sea? class with deadweight of 2300t was constructed under this technology. It is no doubt that this experience was in demand and greatly increased after construction of ?Karelia? project starts.
In 2002 here were started the construction of new vessels and modernization of current facilities, re-equipment of outfits and training the staff of the yard. All these arrangements were aimed at establishing the production which is able to build ready-made vessels
Our Shipyard is aimed at opening up new projects and new technologies. It cooperates steadily with Customers and Designers towards to development of operating characteristics of the vessels.
The Shipyard annually delivers three ready-made vessels to the Owner, and in 2011 we plan to deliver four vessels already.
During last several years the solemn ceremonies of launching the vessels are become habitual event for the shipyard staff and for citizens as well, who can just freely come to the shipyard and look at the ceremony. People come with the whole family, bring their children which remember this superb show forever.
